MEC Medical Ltd provides personal monitors which offer a unique method of determining individual risk to harmful exposure from waste anaesthetic gases in a clinical environment. It has been known for many years that exposure to waste anaesthetic gases may be harmful to the health of exposed employees.
Areas of potential significant exposure:
Operating theatres – Midwifery – Recovery rooms – Dentistry – Maternity units – Veterinary surgeries
Personal sampling using monitors is a cost effective way of reducing this risk.
You choose the following:
The days of testing – The staff to sampled – How long the sampling will last
The service we provide includes the hire of the personal monitors, analysis after use, (using the appropriate HSE recommended analysis method) and issue of a written report detailing the results compared against the relevant COSHH standards.
There are two types of monitor available
Choose from:
Nitrous Oxide or Anaesthetic Gases which can monitor the following,
Isoflurane, Enflurane, Halothane, Sevoflurane.
Both types are supplied ready to wear with full easy to use instructions. The monitors are very light and unobtrusive and are simply clipped on to a garment close to the breathing zone.
On completion of the sampling the monitors are simply resealed and sent to back to MEC for analysis.
